The conference rate includes one night’s bed and breakfast accommodation at the Grand Harbour in a double room for single occupancy, (subject to availability). If you wish to stay extra nights or to bring guests, please see Registration and Fees under ‘Useful Information’ for further details.

The conference has negotiated an exceptional special conference rate with the DeVere Hotel which will be available through the ‘Early Bird’ package. Please see Registration and Fees under ‘Useful Information’.

Travel to the UK

If flying into the UK you can fly directly to Southampton. Alternatively, the most convenient London Airports are Heathrow or Gatwick which have direct travel connections to Southampton.

Southampton Airport: Southampton airport has 13 airlines/tour operators serving around 48 destinations. For details on the routes served visit www.baa.com/main/airports/southampton or Tel: +44 (0)870 040 009. From the airport there is a frequent, direct train service that leaves Airport Parkway Station and goes to Southampton Central Station. You can walk to the hotel from there (please see below). Alternatively you can take a taxi (the journey time is approximately 20 minutes).

Heathrow Airport: If you are flying into Heathrow airport and you wish to take public transport to Southampton, we would recommend that the coach is the fastest route. Direct coaches take approximately 1 hour 35 mins. Get off at Southampton coach station which is in walking distance of the hotel (please see below).

Gatwick Airport: If you are flying into Gatwick airport, the train is the quickest route to Southampton. Direct trains to Southampton Central Station take approximately 2 hours. There is also a direct coach service to Southampton Coach Station which takes about 3 hours. You can walk to the conference hotel from Southampton Central railway station or the coach station (please see below).

By Rail
The nearest station is Southampton Central. It is about 5 minutes by taxi and 15 minutes to walk to the hotel.

By foot from Southampton Central Railway Station
– leave the station by the exit signposted West Quay
– cross the main road (Western Esplanade) in front of you at the traffic lights which are on your left
– walk down the road in front of you with Toys R Us to your right (you are walking towards the West Quay shopping centre)
– you will pass the Coach Station on your right (please follow the directions from the coach station)

By foot from Southampton Coach Station
– when you leave the coach station turn right onto the street and walk towards West Quay shopping centre
– turn right into Pirelli Street, you will be able to see John Lewis and a mini-roundabout
– cross the road towards John Lewis and walk down the length of West Quay shopping centre. You will pass Marks and Spencer (M&S) on your left and IKEA will be on your right. You are walking along Harbour Parade
– when you have passed the shopping centre you will see ‘The Quays’ Swimming and Diving Centre car park in front of you and the side of the DeVere Grand Harbour Hotel. You can walk through the car parks or continue to the end of Harbour Parade and turn left along the main road (West Quay Road).

By Car
Take the M3 South and at Junction 13 join the M27 going West. Leave the M27 at Junction 3 and take the M271 South. At the end of the M271 take the first exit at the roundabout onto the A35. Follow the signs to Southampton Waterfront and West Quay. The hotel is on your left, one block after IKEA.

Ferry
